“Sae” won the Best Feature Film Award at the Asian Film Festival Los Angeles. In addition, the film was nominated in four categories: Best Director (Yusaku Mizoguchi) Best Screenplay (Yusaku Mizoguchi) Best Actress (Luna Fujimoto) Best Cinematography (Adam Sherer) Among so many remarkable Asian films, I am deeply grateful that my American film, “Sae” was chosen. This award belongs to the cast, the crew, and everyone who supported the film along the way. We live in a chaotic world, but I keep making films in the hope that cinema can still bring people together across borders, cultures, and perspectives.
